Visitors who are not citizens of a European Union Member State and who want to enter the Republic of Lithuania must be in possession of the appropriate visa. If you are in possession of a valid Schengen visa, or national visa issued by other Schengen state, you may enter the Republic of Lithuania and remain for the period indicated on a visa, but not exceeding 90 days in any 180 day period

To visit Lithuania, you must have a valid passport or ID card (if you are a citizen of an EU country). A visa is required for citizens of countries that do not have visa-exemption agreements with Lithuania. Information on the visa requirements and the location of embassies can be found on the website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Participants who require a letter of invitation from the Migration Department under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania may contact the Conference Secretariat to apply for the invitation letter. It is not obligatory for those who are going to take care of the visa by themselves. We kindly request that you consult with the relevant institutions in your country about the procedure and required documents before inquiring for the invitation letter.

Participant must be registered and have fully paid participant’s fee.
Invitation letter preparation fee – 15 Eur. Payment must be made by bank transfer.

The month of September is characterised by falling daily high temperatures, with daily highs decreasing from 19°C to 14°C over the course of the month, exceeding 23°C or dropping below 11°C only one day in ten. Official currency in Lithuania is Euro. Visa and MasterCard are accepted in most shops, hotels and restaurants. You will find an ATM on nearly every corner.

ATM (Cash Machines)
Cash-points are ubiquitous in Kaunas, so you won’t have to wander far to track one down. You’ll also find an ATM at the airport. However, most banks will charge a small fee for withdrawing cash overseas.

Electricity in Lithuania is 220 Volts. Plugs are European standard with two round pins.

“Perkuno namai” is the first family owned hotel in Kaunas. Hotel building was designed by family friend and architect V. Landsbergis – Žemkalnis in 1930. Since 1994 this building is operating as hotel in prestigious and private area, near the Old Oak.

Changes or cancellation of your booking can be made up to 30 days prior to your date of arrival without any charge by writing email to Congress Secretariat. If cancelled later, you shall pay the cancellation fee equal to one night hotel rate. In case of no-show, the total price of your reservation will be charged

Direct Ryanair and Wizz Air flights to Kaunas are available from 17 European airports – you can check schedules and changes Bus No. 29 connects Kaunas International Airport with the city centre. The journey takes about 45 minutes with the bus timetable being coordinated with flight schedules. There are also busses from Kaunas International Airport to Vilnius, Klaipėda, Riga and Minsk

Kaunas can be reached easily by train from both Lithuanian and international cities (a new route Kaunas – Bialystok, Poland). The railway station is in a convenient location as it takes barely 15 minutes on foot to reach the central city street (Laisvės Alėja; Liberty Avenue). You can purchase train tickets online

Lithuania has a well developed network of roads. There are two European Highways, with branch lines, Via Baltica (Helsinki – Warsaw, part of the E67 Highway that runs to Warsaw and Prague) and West – East (Klaipeda – Moscow). The traffic is right hand in Lithuania

– 50 km/h in townships
– 80 km/h outside the townships
– 100/110/130 km/h on a highway according to a road type and season

Parking on pavement is forbidden unless the signs tell otherwise. Parking usually is paid, you can pay in the nearest parking automaton. The payment value depends on the parking lot place

If you do not have spare change with you, you can use paying for parking via SMS service:

During Dinner music ensemble “Ainiai” will perform for Congress participants. The ensemble is composed of seven professional musicians and three professional singers. During the concerts music is played by more than 20 different Lithuanian instruments: reed-pipes, Baltic psalteries, horns, goat horns, panpipes, daudytes (embouchure aerophones), percussion, wooden bells, lumzdelis (Lithuanian wind instrument), clay pipes, bell sticks, pliauska and others. These instruments are used to perform not only Lithuanian folk songs and dances, but also original pieces created by various composers. We hope “Ainiai” will make this dinner night to remember.
